Revit to OpenUSD for NVIDIA Omniverse and DSX digital twins
AI factory digital twins in NVIDIA Omniverse are built on OpenUSD. Most data center design lives in Autodesk® Revit® software. We prepare the Revit model, its asset IDs and parameters, and automate the export, so your twin starts from clean, current data.
An OpenUSD framework, and a gap before it.
NVIDIA released the Omniverse DSX Blueprint as "an open, comprehensive framework for designing and operating large-scale AI factories." Its digital twins are built on OpenUSD, with simulation-ready assets for thermal and electrical studies.
The blueprint integrates "physical and digital data into interactive digital twins built on OpenUSD", with design assets published as the baseline for simulation.
NVIDIA says the blueprint is "not a turn-key application ready for production deployment without customization." Your own design data is part of that work.
The blueprint became generally available alongside the Vera Rubin DSX AI factory reference design, to "simulate layouts, power topologies, thermal behavior and operational policies."
NVIDIA's Omniverse Revit Connector "enables users to export their 3D scene to OpenUSD." Getting the data right before export is the part teams usually do by hand.
From Revit model to OpenUSD stage, repeatably.
Asset IDs that survive export
One ID scheme for halls, rows, racks, CDUs and power equipment, stored in Revit so it carries into USD.
Power and cooling data
A/B feeds, RPP and CDU parameters filled and checked in the model, ready for the teams running electrical and thermal studies.
Lighter geometry
Views and filters that leave out what the twin doesn't need, so large campus models load and stay usable.
Repeatable exports
Export settings saved and run by a button or overnight batch, so the twin follows each design issue.
Pre-export checks
A report of missing IDs, empty parameters and duplicates before each export, in Excel or Power BI.
Custom tools
C# Revit add-ins or Python scripts where the standard connector isn't enough. See Revit automation.
Good to know. We prepare and export model data. We don't run CFD, thermal or electrical simulations, and we don't deploy or host the DSX Blueprint. SS Technologies is independent and not an NVIDIA or Autodesk partner.
Fixed price first, then a pilot you can test.
| Option | Price (USD) | Estimated time |
|---|---|---|
| Model health check with export-readiness notes | $500 per model | 3 business days after access |
| Pilot: one model prepared and exported to OpenUSD | $750–$1,500 | 1–2 weeks |
| Full Revit to OpenUSD pipeline | $4,000–$15,000 | set in your scope |

Revit to OpenUSD FAQ
What is the NVIDIA Omniverse DSX Blueprint?
NVIDIA describes it as an open framework for designing and operating large-scale AI factories, with digital twins built on OpenUSD. It is a developer blueprint that needs customization, not a turnkey application.
Can Revit export to OpenUSD?
Yes. NVIDIA's Omniverse Revit Connector exports Revit scenes to OpenUSD. The harder part is the data: consistent asset IDs, parameters and lighter geometry, which is what we prepare and automate.
Are you an NVIDIA partner?
No. SS Technologies is an independent company and is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by NVIDIA or Autodesk.
Who owns the tools?
Work made only for you is assigned to you in writing once paid in full. See Security & IP.
Have a Revit task your team repeats every week?
Tell us about it. Within 2 business days of the call you get a written scope with a fixed price for a pilot or first phase, and an estimate range for anything bigger. No obligation.
