Revit to Power BI: dashboards from your BIM data

Your Autodesk® Revit® models already hold equipment lists, room data, parameters and model warnings. We extract that data, shape it into clean tables and build Power BI dashboards that managers can read without opening a model.

Dashboards teams ask for

What a Revit dashboard can show.

Model health trend

Warnings, file size, in-place families, imported CAD and naming errors per model, week by week.

Assets and capacity

Equipment and rack counts by building, level or data hall, with the parameters that are still empty.

Sheets and issues

Sheet counts, revisions and issue status across projects, from the model instead of a spreadsheet kept by hand.

Clash trends

Open and closed clashes by trade and area over time, fed by clash automation.

Handover readiness

How complete the asset data is against the owner's list, before COBie and handover.

Portfolio view

The same measures across many projects or campuses, so leadership sees one page instead of many models.

How the data gets out of Revit

Three ways to feed Power BI.

Power BI can't open a Revit file. The data has to be extracted first, and the right route depends on where your models live.

Add-in or script

A Revit add-in, Dynamo graph or pyRevit button exports the tables you need to Excel, CSV or a database when someone runs it.

Overnight batch

A scheduled job opens each model and exports the data, so dashboards refresh every morning. See batch automation.

Autodesk cloud

For models in Autodesk Construction Cloud, the Data Connector and Autodesk Platform Services read data without opening Revit. See cloud automation.

Good to know. Autodesk's Power BI connector reads scheduled Data Connector extracts, not live data, so we set up the refresh schedule (Microsoft Learn). People who view shared dashboards need Power BI licenses.

What you get

Fixed price first, then a pilot you can test.

  • A table design for Excel, SQL or your data warehouse
  • Power BI dashboards built to the questions you actually ask
  • A data dictionary that explains every field
  • Full source code and the Power BI file
  • A written acceptance test and a 30-day bug-fix warranty

Questions buyers usually ask

Revit to Power BI FAQ

Can Power BI read Revit models directly?

Not directly. Data has to be extracted first: by a Revit add-in or script, by a scheduled batch job, or from Autodesk Construction Cloud through Autodesk's Data Connector, which Power BI reads as scheduled extracts rather than live data.

Do viewers need Power BI licenses?

People who view shared dashboards need Power BI licenses, according to your Microsoft plan. We confirm what your team has on the scoping call.

How much does a Revit to Power BI dashboard cost?

A fixed-price pilot with one extractor and one dashboard costs $750 to $1,500. A full build across projects costs $4,000 to $15,000, set in a written scope. See pricing.

Who owns the dashboards and code?

Work made only for you is assigned to you in writing once paid in full. See Security & IP.

Have a Revit task your team repeats every week?

Tell us about it. Within 2 business days of the call you get a written scope with a fixed price for a pilot or first phase, and an estimate range for anything bigger. No obligation.
